CoreOnco — the Centre for Oncology Research & Education — was founded by two surgical oncologists with a shared frustration: patients from Lucknow and its surrounding districts were either travelling to Mumbai and Delhi for specialist surgery, or settling for less than specialist care at home. Neither should be necessary.
So we built a network instead of a single hospital: a main surgical centre in Lucknow, and consultation OPDs in Hardoi, Sitapur, Raebareli, Amethi and Lakhimpur Kheri — so that the first opinion, the follow-up and the reassurance happen close to home, and only the operation itself requires the journey.

Dr. Akash Rajput treats cancers of the mouth, tongue, throat, jaw and neck — and rebuilds what the surgery has to remove. His sub-specialty is microvascular reconstruction: transferring living tissue with its own blood supply so that patients can speak, swallow and be recognised in the mirror after treatment.
