Who is covered

The scheme — officially the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rajya Karmchari Cashless Chikitsa Yojana — covers serving Uttar Pradesh state government employees, retired state employees, and their dependent family members. It was launched in 2022 and is run by SACHIS, the state agency that also runs Ayushman Bharat in Uttar Pradesh. Every beneficiary is issued a State Health Card, which is what the hospital checks.

What we will always tell you

Scheme packages set the rates, and occasionally a specific implant, drug or test falls outside them. If anything in your plan is not covered, you are told the exact amount in writing before treatment, never at discharge. If a long course of treatment risks exceeding the ₹5 lakh family limit, you hear that before it starts, together with what other cover applies.
